What is hygge for me?

The little book of Hygge written by Meik Viking (the head of Danish Research Institute of Happiness) has made a great influence on me. Cause this book touches the deepest parts of the soul forcing you to stay true to your true inner being. In today’s world how often we usually wear different masks to show that we are okay to not disturb other people so we sometimes forget about ourselves? How often do we ask ourselves if we are truly happy and live the life we want and not the others? How often do we dare to live the path we’ve chosen untill we reach the destination point remembering to enjoy the simple things in life? Can you answer the question where are you heading right now and not wasting the precious time of your life?

Those questions used to disturb me for two years period so sometimes I could hardly have a proper rest at night. Untill I have understood that all I want is leading the life which sounds fulfilling and satisfying to ME. The very important criteria of leading that kind of life is whether your are happy or not. So I started to search for simple things in life which are making me feel happy. So I could know myself better. Those are, for instance, reading a good book (my hobby since school), walking in a park (thus I love Saint-Petersburg cause here one can easilly get lost in parks), having long deep conversation with your best friend (it does not necessarilly mean one should have many friends, sometimes one good old friend is so much worthier thousands of new ones), travelling alone and together with friends or family.

Another and the very key point to a fulfilled life is knowing your purpose and how to achieve it. We all know that we are not immortal so one day we all die. And what we leave behind will be the only resemblance of us. What would you leave before you go?

This is the central question of the life of every human being. And we need to be honest with ourselves. First of all, start doing whatever you usually doing with love and kindness, treat others with love and be grateful to whatever they are doing and giving to you. That might be all they have. Always be kind. And spread love. As love is the strongest on Earth. Be forgiving. Not because of others. But because of yourself, it is easier when you forgive. Learn life with others and find a way how you can improve it. This is the way to immortality.

I would share here the evidence of improving the lives of others by my own experience, the time when I have started to work in Slovakian company Fleming in Budapest. We have been 12 newcomers and firstly have been asked to write down 5 things we wish to accomplish in life. Simply for ourselves. Cause in sales, like in life, we all need that purpose, motivation that will drive us forward to be a better version of ourselves. I wouldn’t name all of 5 things which I’ve written. But I would share one of them which is my passion. And this is writing a book. The book which might ease the lives of others. I still have no idea how to start but this is on my life goals’ list.

To sum up, life in hygge is all about doing what you love and loving what you do. And love means being comfortable in your own skin. When you reached the dangerous level of your own freedom that you don’t truly care what other people think about you or how they observe you, you’ve become a master of your own life, creator and you can freely fulfil your purpose.
